Special Delivery

As a school girl, creating the special box (usually a shoe box, right?) that your class mates would deliver Valentines was almost as much fun as the Valentines themselves.
This one however, takes the cake, literally!
A Ruffle Cake Valentines Box from Craft That Party!Just about the sweetest thing I have ever seen! Might need a slit in the top to use for school
but would be darling for a Valentines Present too.

Winter Blues

Its a a bit easy to get the Winter Blues in January even in California so that is why I thought this darling Winter Fairy Wand from Icing Designs featured on Babiekins Blog would just be the perfect thing to banish anything but magic with this rainy weather!

A perfect activity (both making and waving) for a cold day inside or
for favor for a Winter Wonderland Party!

A Capsule of Surprise

I spotted this nursery from On to Baby and just fell in love! There are so many creative ideas here but the one I LOVE the most would be the gumball machine with vending capsules! These would make just the cutest favor for any party. Paint the tops your party theme color and fill with whatever small trinket you wish.

Glitter up some little animal figures or...

Of course gumballs are always a grand fun. I love these.
Find the Vending Capsules here. Remember these from your childhood? I do!

Winter Stars

There is something so very quaint about these little paper stars. I had bought a jar of them in the past and used them in my classes as little rewards. I was met with awe as the children carefully held them in their hands and made a wish. It never occurred to me that you could MAKE them!
A perfect little activity for a winters day from Minna May.  Get different colored paper and make a bunch to put into a little jar and use as a sweet party favor.
The ideas are as endless as stars!

Lovabye

I am always on the lookout for a more modern idea of a princess in a story. I just love this book by Barbara Joose called Loveabye Dragon. It is a sweet tale of a fearless girl who does not dream for a prince but for a dragon as a friend. It has a lovely lesson of strong friendship with the most unlikely of friends with an imaginative and lyrical text. It is illustrated by Randy Cecil and is refreshingly pink-free but still has the magic of princess that girls crave.
A new classic, perhaps? What is your child's favorite Princess book? xoxo Queen Laura
